Edinburgh is now home of a newly opened Hotel. Opened on the 16th of March, the Apex Waterloo Place hotel is part of the Apex Hotels Group, the 190 year old building was the first ever purpose built hotel way back in 1819.

Many of the buildings original features have been kept in the grade A listed building and have been combined with a contemporary design that showcases the hotels fabulous architecture.

The Apex hotel now has a luxurious health centre that has a sauna, steam room, swimming pool and gym. The hotel also has a bar & restaurant and will also have corporate facilities available.

With this new hotel opening, the options for tourists and visitors for hotels in Edinburgh have never been better.

Using Twitter for Hotels and Travel Tips

Micro-blogging/Social Networking website Twitter and its community seem to be ubiqutuous these days.Whether its President Obama or Lance Armtrong, Twitter seems to be making the headlines every day.

For any of you out there who have not came across it so far,  Twitter is a site that allows users to provide updates on their current activities via their mobile phone or computer. They can do this by either posting links or using plain text updates, as long as its done in under 140 characters.

Users can post updates on anything they like, and what is so powerful about Twiiter is that it enables you to connect with like-minded people - when you are in the community you can choose to 'follow' and recive updates from anyone of particular interest to you.

There are almost no topics which are not covered by the Twitter community. Of course, here at Hotels in the UK, we are most interested in Hotels and Travel Twitter - and there are plenty of options to choose from.

As an example, if you travelling to London via public transport and you want the latest  information public transport , the BBC and London Travel have the latest information on their Twitter pages, UKseries offers travel news and information. You can even discover which heathrow airport hotels would suit your trip to the capitals busiest airport.

After you have signed up, the best place to start is the search page, enter your topic and start following people, and if you’ve got anything to contribute get invlolved in the community and get tweeting.

Glasgow Hotels out perform UK Competitors

Scotland's biggest city Hotels were outperforming other UK Hotels in 2007/08. But with the recession looming can the Scottish hotels keep ahead of the rest.

The future is unclear and scary to be honest but there is 2 sides of the coin here, on one side we have the fear of the recession, people out of work and therefor not being able to have luxury weekend trips away and of coarse there will be less conferences but on a more positive note you have the week pound which is not a very good thing but it could attract more foreign tourists to our great city.

All my life I have been able to travel to Europe and exchange some money for more money but now it looks like the corner has turned and I think - and hope we will see a large increase in the numbers of European tourists swapping some money for more money by coming here to visit and stay in a Hotel Glasgow.

What to do in Hemel Hempstead?

Hemel Hempstead would on the face of it seem an unusual place to visit. However, Im going to be heading down there soon and i have been having a look at the internet to see what there is to do in the area.

The Wiki entry has been very helpful as has the Hemelweb guide, and apparently there is a nice Hemel Hempstead Hotel just ouside the town itself-seems like it'll be well worth the visit.

Finding a Heathrow Airport Hotel

Navigating around Heathrow Airport has always been an etremely stressful task. This is quite understandable as Heathrow is the worlds third busiest airport and has the largest number of international travellers of any airport on earth.

What we have been doing in order to relieve the stress of journeying to and from heathrow is booking into this great heathrow airport hotel. It is quite amazing the difference that this makes to any trip - we would recommend it.
