Situated at the heart of England, Northamptonshire offers visitors easy accessibility as well as a great range of things to do. Road links include the M1, M45, M6, and M40 plus you can get from Northampton itself to London by train in less than an hour.

Hotels Lead UK out of Recession

Britain officially came out of a recession yesterday [26th Jan 2010], and it was about time too as I think you'll all agree.

However an interesting fact came out of all the numbers and jargon. According to the governments own body for calculating all that stuff the Office of National statistics [ONS], it was from the Hotel & Restaurant sector of the economy that most of the growth came.

Hotels have shown three consecutive quarters of growth in the UK, which means that they have been the leaders of the UK recovery.

This, of course, is good news for the entire industry, because if the hospitality trade can still manage to expand when many of us are feeling the pinch, then we could be set for great times ahead when the economy is again in full swings. Well done hoteliers, lets have a great 2010.

Glasgow Hotel Group go into Adminastration

Sad day for the Mckever Group

It is with sad news to report that the Mckever hotel group has gone into administration with estimated debts of £100,000,000. The firm based in Glasgow is another victim of the credit crunch. The group formed in 1982 and employee more than 550 people in 20 hostels, apartments and hotels across in the north of England and across Scotland.

The group has said to be deeply concerned at the deep impact it may well have on homeless residents who depend on their flats and hostels in the Glasgow area and beyond.
Circulating news states that the Glasgow hotel group may still be able to remain operative but the future of the hostels is in serious doubt.

The administrators are running the business whilst they exuast every avenue to keep the business running. The website is still operational and taken bookings.

Finding a Heathrow Airport Hotel

Navigating around Heathrow Airport has always been an etremely stressful task. This is quite understandable as Heathrow is the worlds third busiest airport and has the largest number of international travellers of any airport on earth.

What we have been doing in order to relieve the stress of journeying to and from heathrow is booking into this great heathrow airport hotel. It is quite amazing the difference that this makes to any trip - we would recommend it.
